memory command rate question

I'm running a asus maximus vii hero motherboard, i5 4690k cpu, and 4x4 16gb of gskill 1600mhz cas 9, I was thinking of changing the command rate from 2 to 1. is it a good idea or could it f up my system or?

Lowering the command rate to 1 will reduce latency and does improve performance in the right situation. So if you ran run your ram stable with a command rate of one, why wouldn't you? My RAM runs fine at it's XMP profile settings with a command rate manually changed to one. Here is a good post about command rate.

Well you have four sticks on a dual channel mobo, that may affect your ability to lower the command rate. Give it a shot, the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Yes. I can on my ASUS Strix Z270 mobo anyway, I would imagine your board will allow it as well.
