Hi,

I'm going to build a Desktop machine with Intel i7 4930K processor and Asus P9X79 LE motherboard. I'm little bit confused in selecting the memory for it. I don't have a hope for overclock the processor. So I decided to get memory with 1866MHz which is the highest capability of mobo without overclocking. I was hoping to buy

G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 32gb 1866MHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231612
OR
G.SKILL Ripjaws X or Z 32gb 1866 MHz

But later I found Qualified memory module list from Asus site for P9x79 LE mobo.
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA2011/P9X79-LE/P9X79_LE-DRAM-QVL.pdf
It doesn't have both of above memories and only have
CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 32GB CMT32GX3M4X1866C9 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233271)
and
Corsair Vengeance 32GB CMZ32GX3M4X1866C10
Both of them are over priced and hard for me to afford.
another fact is that newegg pages for GSkill memory kits (I mentioned above) says "Intel XMP support for 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors". So It seems my processor is not compatible with XMP in those GSkill memories.

Because of above facts I'm bit confused about choosing a memory for my build. Does anyone had success with Asus P9x79 LE board and Gskill memory modules I mentioned above? Please give me your valuable recommendation to help my build.

Thanks in advance

It's not a good idea getting 1866Mhz CL10 RAM when 1866Mhz with CL9 RAM is nearly the same price
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Your motherboard should support any DDR3 RAM right out of the box.
X79 is an old chipset but it should support XMP! also just for note X79 chipset doesn't have USB 3.0 ports natively!

Great combo on the CPU and MB! Couple things, you say you don't have a hope for OCing the CPU, don't worry about that it's not hard and only take a couple minor changes (happy to help), so with that in mind (even if it's down the road, and based on the price of the sets shown that you've looked at, I'd suggest taking a look at the Snipers in 2133/10

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231664

Good alternates would be the Ripjaws X F3-2133C10Q-32GXM, or the Ares F3-2133C11Q-32GAR.....All are 2133/10 and can be waiting for when you do OC, in the meantime, if your CPU/MC has trouble with them while the CPU is at stock (may well (probably will) run them at their native 2133/10 while at stock), you can easily drop these to 1866/9 for better performance than the 1866/10 sets, and all three sets listed are the same price ($315 at the Egg) as the 1866/10 Snipers you were looking at. So for same price you get sticks native to 2133/10............

Could even - at less get the RJ X 2400/11, F3-2400C11Q-32GXM set, which can also drop to 1866/9 (maybe even 8) for $310...I'd go with one of the faster sets, then when ready to OC, you'll already have faster DRAM at same price or less.... and give me a shout when ready, OCing your 4930 is as simple as changing the multiplier...and maybe a slight change in vCore voltage (auto may carry it) to OC to 4GHz

Thanks a lot for valuable comment
I got some good information from this page http://www.gskill.com/en/configurator?manu=29&chip=28&model=63
and thought to go with following memories
RipjawsZ F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZL 309$
10-11-10-30

Ares F3-1866C10Q-32GAB 299$
10-11-10-30-2N

RipjawsZ F3-1866C10Q-32GZM 352$
10-11-10-30-2N

RipjawsZ F3-1866C9Q-32GZH 340$
9-9-9-24-2N
[Prices are as at newegg]
I'm very interested on your idea of getting a ram with higher speed and working it at 1866 and lower latencies while sitting in same price range. But I don't see any of the suggested memories in G Skill ram configurator page. But there are 2133 with 10 cas latency.
[RipjawsZ] F3-2133C10Q-32GZM 319$

Another thing I heard is that Ripjaw Z is better for the MB than Ripjaws X. Ripjaws X works fine with x79 boards. But Z is built for x79 exclusively.

I like to get that Ripjaw Z 2133 memory as its advantegeous and its in the same price range. But will it affect the stability of my machine?

I also have some little thought on Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboard. It have handful of features and it's multi Lan and wlan cards attracted me as I'm a networking guy. But I saw so many bad reviews on that board and so many people have get screwed with it. Do you think it's better to go for Deluxe instead of LE? Considering features, power requirement, stability(less issues) are we getting worth for what we paying extra?
