Memory compatibility

I bought this memory from Newegg (4gb pc3 - 8500 cl7 240 pin) kvr1066d3s8n7k2/4g

and tried to install it in my Lenovo M58p 9965 xb1 that had (1gb 1rx8 pc3 8500u-07-00-ad) m378b2873dz1-cf8 0912 installed and working fine.

The new memory will not work even if i only put one stick in the dimm 1 slot. I get 3 beeps every time. Is the new memory not compatible? If so, how do I get the correct memory? Thank you, Jeff.

First, I found a driver upgrade, you might want to try that...

Could you post the model of your motherboard?

The MB is Lenovo MTQ45MK bios is 5ckt46a

I update the BIOS to the latest version and the new memory works!! Now I need to figure out how to get the sound to work. Do I need to start a new thread? I have tried to update the audio driver several times but it still says there is no sound device present. Thanks, Jeff.
