"memory control" meaning in the picture

In the picture in page 9 of the architecture in CPU and Memory component there is a link that called Memory Control.
(There are more pictures with that in the presentation).

I try to search "memory control" in the web and can't find it.
1. Should it be "memory controller"?
2. It is correct English?
3. What is the function of it?

Signals other than address and data. Clock signal for example. So these are required signals to make the memory function.
