[SOLVED] Memory Corruption One Bit BSOD ?

I've recently (within the last two months after a bad storm cut the power) started having BSODs that are not exactly easy to replicate. Sometimes they're instant other times they take days or weeks to happen.

I only have the four most recent minidumps and am at a loss as to what to do to fix the problem.

I've run the memory diagnostic tool windows 10 has and it came back with no errors, I've checked my HDD and SSD with the Sandisk SMART software (as they're WD and sandisk products). I've done everything that I can think of except reformatting my SSD (I'd rather not reformat if I can help it). I changed my page file to each drive and received the issue both times, refreshed the page file itself, updated drivers, rolled back drivers. I've run chkdsk, sfc and dism, both came back clean. chkdsk and sfc found errors and replaced some things.

Most recent crash dump happened when I booted up a game, some of my other applications stopped working and crashed (then wouldn't load), as I tried opening the program it kept crashing until the computer bluescreened. It happened a lot less when the pagefile was on my SSD instead of my HDD.

These are one drive links to my crash dumps, I had upgraded my hardware near the beginning of this year and didn't have any real issues until recently.

I'm leaning towards a RAM or SSD issue but I'm beginning to think it may be a driver problem.

someone at Userbenchmark really hates AMD. Their reaction to new the 7000 series will be funny. They will find some reason they are worse then Intel. Or claim the next un announced version of Intel CPU's will be better... they done that with the 5000 series.

I am currently converting dumps, see what they show

Sounds like you may have a shorted ssd/hdd that is corrupted form the power outage. You can try running cmd as admin, and running this command. Sfc /scannow

newer bios than one he is on. He on 3401, current is 4201

Processes mentioned are victims

they all happened in virtual memory, I don't see any direct actions with page file.
In other words, it didn't touch the drives, it was in ram or CPU

have you run memtest?
Try running memtest86 on each of your ram sticks, one stick at a time, up to 4 passes. Only error count you want is 0, any higher could be cause of the BSOD. Remove/replace ram sticks with errors. Memtest is created as a bootable USB so that you don’t need windows to run it

Does Speedfan even work on your PC? It hasn't been updated and doesn't know what Ryzen is

I removed speedfan a very long time ago via its uninstaller, I wasn't even aware it was still implemented on my system, I use core temp instead.

I'll run the memtest next chance I get.

Do you use Ethernet cable or Wifi?

Last 2 victims are internet related, your realtek drivers look pretty new but I only see Bluetooth from Intel
May 30 2022ibtusb.sysIntel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) Filter driver (Intel Corporation)
which is odd. Bluetooth normally comes with WIFI.

try running this and see if it offers anything new - https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html
(yes, its odd AMD boards have Intel WIFI but well, I have it too on my Aorus X570)

I use ethernet cable, the only time I used the Wifi was to install my LAN drivers originally, the Wifi device is disabled since I don't intend on using it.

Realtek drivers were my attempt at updating my drivers when I started having bluescreens.

When I used the website it simply tells me "Something went wrong while trying to scan"

I ran the memtest and it errored on each stick in the thousands, so I think it's safe to say that it's the RAM at fault here. Unfortunate considering I just got these sticks a year and a half ago. It seemed that the RAM couldn't keep up with the tests (they were one input off on each error), would toning down their clock (removing the XMP and letting the PC force them to 2133 instead of 3600) alleviate the problem until I can replace them?

Do you have proof of purchase on the ram?
If so, most ram has a life time guarantee so if you can show the maker of ram the memtest results, they should replace the set.

Best to not use a stick that creates anything higher than 1 error

could run memtest on both sticks with XMP off and see if it makes any difference.
You probably need to let it run once overnight, on each stick by itself, it will show a report then.

Unfortunately I do not have proof of purchase, it was purchased by my recently deceased father as a gift so getting proof of purchase is practically impossible.

I'll try running the tests with the XMP off and see if it alleviates any of the problems with it.

i don't know if its probable but might be some dates on the ram sticks themselves that show when they were made. It would be worth looking since you handling them now.

As for if G Skill would replace based on your story, I don't know. It would maybe depend on what proof they want.

Most people anywhere here that it was a gift from a relative that passed when it comes to ram almost always are rma they technically have life time warrenty on ram itself, alot of the time the won't even ask for proof of purchase just a list of issues

I've managed to RMA the ram after much talk with gskill support. Once I get the new sticks (in about 2 weeks), I'll put them in and see if they pass the memtest and if I have any issues, it's possible my PSU is bad but hopefully it was actually the RAM at fault. But we'll find out in a few weeks and I'll update here. Thanks for all of your help.
