Memory for ASUS sabertooth P67

Hello,

After hours of research on new parts for my new build i have decided to go with these components:

INTEL Core i7 "Sandy-Bridge D2" 2600K, 4x 3.4GHz, Socket 1155
ASUS EAH6970 DCII 2DI4S, 2GB DDR5, PCI-Ex16 Radeon 6970, 2xDVI
ASUS Sabertooth P67, Intel P67
Asus DRW-24B3LT SATA - Retail (Black)
Corsair CMT6GX3M3A2000C8
Corsair TX Series TX750W V2
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB, 2.5 Zoll, SATA-3
LANCOOL DragonLord PC-K62

The only problem i have is with the ram, i was going to get the corsair vengeance 8GB but they did not appear on the ASUS sabertooth qualified vendor list and so i decided to settle on the Corsair Corsair Dominator-GT 6 GB (CMT6GX3M3A2000C8) which is on the qualified vendor list. However with the sandy bridge is there not something about dual channel that only allows between 4GB and 8GB of ram, as you can see i am a little confused .

I would gladly appreciate if you could tell me if this ram is fine or if i should go for another type . Also feel free to comment about the other components of my build.

Nope CMT6GX3M3A2000C8 is not ok, it have 2 issues:
1 - its triple channel when SB cpus support only dual channel, tzh you can use 1,2 or 4 modules with it.
2 - its operating voltage when SB use only 1.5V

So get 2x4GB kit that operates on 1.5V such as Corsair Vengeance 8GB CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B, but make sure that they fit under cpu heatsink of your choice. Some heatsinks cover memory slots and only low profile memory modules fit in that case.

You mean qualified vendor list on asus site ?
Rather check http://www.corsair.com/learn_n_explore/
List your board there and you can see complete memory list of modules that were tested with board. And Corsair Vengeance modules are listed.
If module is not listed it doesn't mean it will not work, there is only slight chance that module can have compatibility issues with particular board.

Btw why you want Sabertooth board? Its not best board around there and some people report its little overheating because cover in front side prevent airflow. Try look at Asrock P67 Extreme4 instead.

I have that board with a pair of Vengeance 4GB sticks. Runs perfectly, but it's not as fast as you seem to want. In my opinion, it won't make any difference at all, and I have to admit the only reason I bought these is because they have a nice heatsink.

I forgot to mention, they are rated at 1600MHz.
