Question Memory for MB new build

New build here. Buying parts. If I buy memory that meets the MB manufacturers'specs (timing, voltage, etc), is it necessary to also match the model number they recommend? I've gone through PC Part Picker and they say it's compatible. However, if I go to the MB support sight, I can't find the memory model number on their rec list.

QVL MEMORY lists on the boards site are rarely updated and can never be complete , to many memory sticks on the market.

QVLs will never include all compatible memory, there are just too many for manufacturers to evaluate.

Yes, if the memory meets specs, it will very likely work.

If not on the QVL list, go to the ram web site and access their ram selection app.
Enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported kits.
While others may work, I think it best to buy ram that is explicitly supported.
