Memory halved

Hi,

I have an old ASUS P2L97 motherboard with 2 SDRAM cards of 32 MB each installed. Since yesterday each Memory card only gives 16 MB each, leaving me with just 32 MB RAM in total. I have no idea why the cards now only give me 16 of the regular 32 MB of memory. I've tested it this way, leave one card in in socket DIMM 1. It gives you only 16 MB. Did the same thing with the second card with exactly the same result. So it is _NOT_ that one card is faulty. Either one only gives 16 instead of the 32 MB. I've tried to clean them with no remedy as of yet. Please help me, the "speed" is killing me.

Thanks in advance,

Rob Mulder

I´ve heard about something simular. In some way double-sided DIMMs is read as single-sided therefore dividing it to two.

How did it occur. ?

I have got no idea. I was in ME and I suddenly got a reboot. Do you know if there is a remedy? Or should I buy new dimm's?

I think getting new dimms wouldn´t help cause it sounds like a mobo-issue. Don´t know much about that mobo thought. Hope someone else does.
