Memory / Hard Drive Compatibility Issues

What kind of laptop hard drives are compatible with 1gb 2rx16pc2-6400-666-12 memory cards? I am trying to repair an older laptop with older parts i have but getting a blink code for memory.

There should be no relationship between the memory and the HDD. Does it POST if you disconnect the HDD? Are the modules compatible with that laptop?
