I am running on Win2000 for 3 days now and my memory seems to be rising... what's the problem? It was 135MB yesterday night and now it is 200! What happened? I didn't change anything. Apps running are:
1. IE5.5
2. Taskmon
3. Norton NTVirus
4. Blackice Defender
5. PorivoPEER
6. ICQ

And my computer specs are:
AMD 750 Slot A
Asus K7V
256MB PC133
Matrox G400
SBLive! Player
3com 10Mbps
I know restarting might help clear the memory, but that will never answer the question 'Why my memory is increasing?"! 😱

Morgan 1.6Ghz + 256DDR = Dream on
However dreams are approacable

Oh, I just figured it out. I think IE uses the available RAM to store temp internet files. I have 256MB RAM and i only use (currently) 150MB of them. Thanx for viewing the question, guys...

Smart guys are not smart; they only see things in different perspective.

I'm sure memory leaks run rampant in all those programs you listed too. Have you tried killing off a few services? There is an article on www.arstechnica(sp?).com that has instructions on a few services that start up automatically by default that you really don't need.

You can easily check which app is "eating" all yer memory in the task manager...
