Memory Latency CL4 running at CL5?

I bought 2 sticks of 2GB each, TOTAL 4GB: G.Skill Pi Series F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B DDR2 800MHZ PC2-6400 2GB CL4 (4-4-4-12) 1.8v~1.9v
and they are running at 5-5-5-15 NOT 4-4-4-12, (that's what CPU-Z and AIDA64 shows)
anyone knows what's going on?
my motherboard is foxconn g33m02 my processor is core 2 duo e8400
I know everything is compatible, the voltage, frequency, and capacity.

The DRAM probably is loaded to the mobos default, go in and change the timings manually. Then, if any problem with the tighter timinings can add a touch of voltage to the NB

I can't change it in the BIOS, it's DELL OEM

Then you're stuck. Prebuilts basically always have a locked BIOS, and the manufacturers seldom do anything to provide for higher performance components as far as the BIOS goes.

That's why I bought a intel gigabyte motherboard which I will hook it up tomorrow along with a cpu upgrade quad core this time, and I then will be able to change the latency, right?

Should be yes, will also want to check the GB website to ensure you have the latest drivers and BIOS 😉
