Hi!

I have an old computer with the motherboard GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-GAMING 7. On it I have installed two RAM modules of Ballistix Tactical BLT2KIT8G3D1608DT1TX0 - (8 GBx2) (DDR3, 1600 MT/s, PC3-12800, DIMM, 240-Pin).

I want to add two more modules to have 32GB but I can't find Ballistix Tactical BLT2KIT8G3D1608DT1TX0.

Which one can I install? I think the new ones must have the same specifications from the one installed.

Thank you.

You're exactly right. If you were to add a kit that is 1333MHz, your 1600MHz kit will lower itself to 1333. Try to find a memory kit with the exact same specs--down to the True Latency timing. This can be very difficult, especially for DDR3 RAM.

Even if you find them it's still not guaranteed to work with the other set.

Safe way is to buy a 32gb set and sell yours.

With that said DDR3 was fairly forgiving on mixing memory and making it work.
