I'm experiencing a weird issue with my RAM. I have looked online but to my surprise I was unable to find someone else with my same issue. Please help me understand what's going on.
I am running Windows 10
My RAM speed is 3200mhz
In my BIOS it says the RAM is running at 2133mhz with XMP off
When I go into Windows, Task Manager reports my RAM speed is 3200mhz while opening CPU-Z still shows my RAM speed as 2133mhz
And when I turn on XMP my bios reports 3200mhz RAM speed
When I go into Windows it either immediately crashes or after a few seconds or sometimes after a few minutes.
I was able to go into CPU-Z while XMP mode was on and it still reports 2133mhz while task manager reports 3200mhz.
No matter what Task Manager reports 3200mhz
Does this mean it's running at 3200mhz? or should I listen to the BIOS and CPU-Z?
I try enabling XMP but it crashes windows :/ so I've left it for awhile thinking Windows 10 is using my RAM at 3200mhz as Task Manager reports.
Also I checked and XMP mode uses the reccomended timings and voltage as on the RAM package.
I also tried manually selecting 3200mhz in the BIOS without XMP and windows still crashes like in XMP mode.
Please help me.
Thank you for your time
