Memory not showing

Win 10 64bit System info and BIOS both showing only 8gb ram after upgrading with 2x8gb. Msi pc mate z97 mobo. I have tried utilizing slots 1+3 as well as 2+4 to keep the dual channel. Any suggestions on what else i could try? Yes the sticks are seated completely in and they are new sticks so I wouldn't think that a stick could have already gone bad.

Ripjaw ddr3's and yes bios is updated

Model #, there are tones of RipJaws sets, also Ripjaws X and RipJaws Z sets - can find the model number on the sticks, will start wit a 'F3-' or can generally see in the SPD tab of CPU-Z (free app) next to part number

That's the model # for a 2x4GB set (8GB total, not 2 x8GB), it's identified in the end of the model # '9D-8GBRL)

9 = CL
D = dual (or 2 stick package
8GB = Total DRAM in package
RL = Ripjaws Low
