Question Memory oc

Just got my new 3600mhz memory, now I have a 1600x and I’m trying to oc it to faster speeds now I’m aware the cpu can’t handle 3600 I think but I’ve tried turning on xmp profile to 3600, it still shows up as 2600 or so in task manager, I also tried it manually and set it to 3200 again same thing 2600 odd when I checked speeds I also checked on cpuz and dram was 1330 or so, I have a stock b450 pro 4 also any help will be appreciated to enable the oc to work plan to get 3700x soon

it will not run at that speed, why even try?
set it to the xmp profile, and the 2600/2666 you get is the proper number (as its Double of the true MHz the ram is capable).

I did set it to camp but u have to select the speed with this and I am unsure what the highest I can achieve w my other components

your cpu supports up to 2667, if using 2 sticks (no matter if dual or single chip per stick),
so i would set it at that.

Thank you man, you hunk am just getting ahead of myself as I bought it for upgrading to 3000 series haha will order this and update my bios hopefully all goes well and it doesn’t brick
