Memory performance in Passmark.

My Kingston RAM is giving me a score of 1758 in passmark memory test. Passmark claims this RAM has an average score of 2514, higher is better.

Kingston KHX2400C15D4/4G 4GB in slot A2 and B2 as recommended by ASRock for a total of 8GB DDR4 2400 CAS 15

The rest of the computer scores above avg. for this build.

AMD R5-1600
ASRock AB350 PRO4
Kingston KHX2400C15D4/4G 4GB * 2
AMD R9-280 3GB
WD HDD 1TB 7200RPM BLUE
Corsair 100r

All OS and UEFI BIOS updates installed.

Do I need to return this RAM?

Well the avg. score is 2514, they do also give a max. score of like 3439. I figure the max. score is from the best overclock on the best motherboard. But I would expect my score of 1758 to be closer the avg. score. I think I'll take it back at this point. The RAM did pass MemTest86 however.

Hi Vic, I had a matched pair of Kingston KHX2400C15D4/4G, CAS 15 DDR4 2400. I returned them and got a matched pair of Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK8GX4M2B3000C15, DDR4 3000 2x4GB CAS 15 running XMS profile @ 2933. I didn't see much of an improvement in memory performance, but the entire system scored an appreciable amount higher on CPU and Graphics tests.

I also overclocked the CPU from a base clock of about ~3200 MHz to a very stable 3865.77 MHz. I could not get it to run any faster and run stable. I'm using the stock CPU cooler that comes with the R5-1600, since my last reboot I've had a minimum temp of 31C and a maximum temp of 57C although I have seen it go as high as 68C while benchmarking.

CPU-Z says the DRAM Frequency is 1463.2 MHz CAS 16 17 17 35 52 1T
CPU-Z Multicore Score is 3591.0 and Single Core Score is 446.8. A stock R5-1600 multicore score is 3108 and single core score is 364
