[SOLVED] Memory Pricing

Hello All,

I recently purchased Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16)

For some reason, this specific set of Ram corsair sells is around 20% cheaper compared to all the other 2x8 3200Mhz kits.
This is the first time myself buying ddr4 ram because I am still on the ddr3 platform.

Would anyone know why this specific set of Ram is so much cheaper? I do not want to lose performance since I have also purchased one of the new 3000 series CPUs, which I know its performance is dependant on Memory.

RAM prices fluctuate. It is 3200mhz with a CL of 16. It is good RAM and you wont lose any performance. Go for it as it sounds like you got a good deal.

You can see almost the same with some of the g.skill trident z rgb 16gb 3200 2x8 cl16
$102.99 @my local microcenter.
The lower the cl prices go up.
But overall prices have dropped alot since sept last year when i rebuilt.
I paid $229.00 then for g.skill flare x 16gb 2x8 3200 cl14. It's going for $149.00 now.
So with the prices dropping it's a great time to get high quality lower latency ram.

CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 can be had for ~ €80-85.
Price $102.99 doesn't seem that good.

Cas latency is most likely the reason for the cost difference. Dependent on budget and hardware list would determine if the added cost is necessary. If its a low to mid range system those sticks would be fine. If it's a $2000 USD+ system then I would personally spend extra for cas latency 14 b-die memory, especially for a Ryzen system.

£75 pounds Inc Tax so around 95 dollars.
