Hi, I've had programs not install correctly, corrupt files, windows files being corrupted etc. I installed windows again, ran memtest and it said that I have a memory problem. However I originally had 16gb (2x 8gb) of the ram i have now (ddr3 1600) but i took one of them out because of the problems the ram was causing me. i thought it was just one faulty module, as the problems disappeared for a while, only to come back. both ram modules being bad sounds odd, so i was thinking maybe its something else? i have no experience with memory related issues so i can only take guesses. my processor is old, 2nd generation, these don't usually support newer components such as higher frequency ram. could it be that the processor is causing the issue? could my motherboard be faulty, or is the ram just not compatible with my computer?
also, any help in choosing new ram would be appreciated, in accordance to my components.
