I have a Epox 8kda3+. motherboard i just bought "Corsair Value Select - Minne - 2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB ) - DIMM 184-pin - DDR - 400 MHz / PC3200 - ej buffrad - icke ECC" memorys i had 2x 512 since before...

Now here is my problem when i have 1 memory in slot it runs in 400 MHz as intended. But when i put in 2 memorys on the motherboard is just wanna run 366 Mhz..

And now when i got 2x 1GB memorys and 1x 512MB memory total of 2512 GB memory it just wanna run in 200MHz "CpuZ says 100mhz frequency core"??

Please help me with this problem as i dont want the memorys to run slower just bc i have 3 of them??

How do i get it back up to 400Mhz "200mhz core" speed with all 3 memory slots taken.. If i change in bios to maxx alowed 200mhz then it wont get past showing memory and stop there...

All the Memorys are DDR PC 3200 running at 400MHz..

If i take them out and put em in and start up one by one.. it runs each in 400MHz. But when i try more then one it clocks down itself and with 3 in they only run at half speed.. Need help badly as i have no idea what 2 do.

Go into the bios and force the speed rather then by auto/spd.

This is a limitation of the chipset and memory controller. You may be able to enter the as advised and set the timings manually. However, you are most likely going to need to remove the 2 x 512mb to run DDR400 or faster.

I only use 1x512 atm as i only have 3 memory slots and 2x1GB sticks that i got yesterday.. So what ur saying is that i have to manually force in bios them to run at 200.. i tried that works with 2x1Gb memorys but not when i use the 2xGB and the 512Mb memory. I used the option to allow maxx 200 in the option not auto.. but then it wouldnt get past checking memory screen..

Is there any manual numbers i should put in to get the 512 to work with the 2GB as they should or do i have to take the 512 out alltogether ? :( feels a bit sucky to not be able to use all ram memmorys u got thou :/

as stated previously..

many socket 754 mobo's/cpu's have issues running 3 ram sticks at full speed.. This is more of an issue with the CPU than the chipset, since the memory controller is integrated in the cpu.

Not much you can do about it, except yell at the maker of the chip.

Dang then its going to probably be like that on my new motehrboard also as its the same socket? New one is Asus K8V-XE changed it so i could get a new graphic card wihout having to buy a new processor..

But what is the manual timings? or are they different from memory to memory so i cant make them fit both the 1GB:s and the 512MB one?

Set your timings to the higher numbers. You will have to put the RAM in separately to find out what each type of RAM has, but then you can set it to DDR-400. My friend's PC had 2 types of RAM, both DDR-400 but different timings, so it clocked to DDR-266. I set it to 400mhz without changing timings and it wouldn't boot, so I reset the BIOS and set the timings to the slower RAM and set the speed to 400 and it was fine.

Yes but how should i set the timings what are they suppose 2 be at?
I mean i dont wanna fry the memorys for having to switched them up to high...

http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgroup/en/productDetail.php?pd_id=53&pl1_id=3&pl2_id=11 is the 512MB memory im using atm.

and

http://www.corsair.com/products/value_select.aspx is the 2x1GB memorys im using.. brand new. VS2GBKIT400C3 is the part number.

So with those 2 what voltage should i run and what timings?
Im a complete newb to the whole memory settings so if i can get the names on the stuff im suppose to change and 2 what.. would be super thnx..

I had a socket 754 system with MSI mobo VIA K8T800 chipset and I could run at 400 only with two sticks, when the third was installed it dropped to 333 and there was nothing I could do to make it run at 400...
I blame the chipset, cause it actually explained that in the mobos manual

on almost all DDR boards the case was simply a matter of how many sticks you had installed. 2 sticks could run at 400 if the sticks were in fact DDR400 or PC3200. 3 sticks no matter what have a max of 333 or PC2700, and 4 sticks (even at ddr400) would run at 266 PC2100)

Yeah 200mhz true clock speed, 400mhz effective speed as it is double data rate (D D R) - 200mhz x 2 (double) = 400mhz effective

ditch the 512 its worthless and unmatched, you wont miss it trust me, the more sticks you have the more issues you will have.
