Memory question

Currently i have G.SKILL 2GB 800MHZ (the $89.99 verison from newegg) and i want to add maybe another one or two gigs but id like to know do i need to have the same type or can i buy a better pair? i heard from a friend that you need the same pair.

What would you suggest me to buy for $115 1x2gb or 2x2gb? please give link to what i should buy ty

4 slots its an ps35 motherboard made by gigabyte $130

I would try and match the memory as closely as possible.

For starters the memory generally needs to operate in the lowest common denominator fashion so buying better RAM will not help.
