Memory ram - 16gb installed only 8gb usable.

I bought a motherboard m5a97 LE r2.0, and an AMD 8350 processor, plus two CORSAIR VENGENCE RAM memory combs of 8GB 1600hz. In the BIOS it appears only 8GB installed, and on windows 16GB installed and only 8 usable. Is there a problem with the BIOS? How does this dual channel issue work? What is the correct installation position on the motherboard of the combs?

Information on placement of modules is found in the downloadable motherboard manual.

If the memory used are modules sold as singles then that may be your problem. Memory is guaranteed in the form sold. Only modules purchased together in a single kit are guaranteed to be compatible together.

Without a part number or link to the memory, I can only guess what you have.

maybe ur cpu is allocating 8gb of ram for integrated graphics.U can change the value in bios of how much vram u need for graphics.Most AMD cpus allocate quite high ram for graphics
