Memory ram 3000mhz with Ryzen 5

Can i use a Crucial Ballistics Tactical 8GB ( 1x8) DDR4 3000MHz with a ryzen 1500x/1600/1600x ?

Although not recommended, but should be fine. ryzen loves dual channel 2 sticks in a pack, faster than single stick.

Some reported most recent BIOS update makes Ryzen less picky.

I have the Ryzen 5 1600X and Asus Strix B350-F MB. It is working great with my 3000mZh (showing a clock of 2999.7) GSKILL TridentZ RGB (2X8GB)

If your motherboard supports an overclock to 3000MhZ on RAM it should be fine, even if it's not on the "tested and approved" list. Check your MB info. My MB says 2133 or something as the max with several OC possibilities (in parenthesis) going above 3000. I just put the sticks in and set the bios to work with it.

All Ryzen CPUs are similar. It mainly depends on motherboard compatibility. If you already have it, just try. 2666 should be achievable but 3000 depends on luck.

that is not a very good board, the ram can work, but may run 2666 only, 3000 depends on your luck.

Yeah my board "maxes" at 2133 or something, but says it OC's to 3000+. I barely had to do anything to get to 3000. So much faster than my old ddr3 1886 or whatever it was

2133 and 2400 are guaranteed for any compatible 2400+ ddr4 ram
2666/3000/3200 are OC -> not guaranteed, depending on motherboard ram compatibility.

Doesn't matter they are basically the same chip. The 1600X is just OC'd by about 100mhz. The 1600 comes with the Wraith Spire cooler though and I bought that separately for my 1600X and I like it.

you need to pay more than 25 due to 3rd party cooler needed for 1600X.

i already have a cooler that i ordered. Cause i bought a 1500x which was broke and i sold it. Now i want to buy a new cpu. So it will work with the mobo and ram?

I mean the difference is about 10-1 fps. But is it worth 20-25 bucks, i think about buying the ryzen 1600x cause i am not on a budget, and 20 bucks is not that much, idk.

1600 can easily oc to 1600X level. However, if you don't want to do overclocking, get 1600X.
