Hi,
I am going to build R3 3300X With RTX 2060 and Crosair Vengeance LPX 16 GB ( 2x8) DDR4 3200 MHz CL16. I'm going with MSI B450 tomahawk due to budget. But there is a little confusion, Msi mentioned it supports 3200MHz at XMP profile ( OC). So my question is do i have to turn on xmp profile to achieve 3200 MHz or should i leave it to default. Will my ram speed will down to 2667 MHz ( as it is mentioned with jedec ). Processor supports 3200 MHz Ram and Motherboard too but it only supports at XMP profile. I am curious if my ram will work fine at 3200 mhz speed. Kindly tell in detail, thanks

Thanks for info but seems you didn't understand my point. What i am saying that MSI B450 Tomahawk supports 3200 MHz at OC only. If i put 3200 mhz sticks directly, will this work fine without any problems and without turning on xmp profile. I want 3200 mhz result without turning on xmp profile. So is that possible if i put 3200 mhz sticks directly¿
No it will default down to a lower speed if you just stick 3200 in their without enabling XMP profile. It will work fine but at a lower speed.

Either 2400 or 2666 not sure on that board.

Overclocking the memory/ enabling XMP is no big deal nothing like overclocking the processor. Pretty much just enter BIOS make a few clicks save and exit.
You won't have any problem using XMP at 3200MHz on a 3300X. This is a Matisse Zen 2 CPU. It can go to 3600MHz easily and the difference in price between 3200 and 3600MHz is very small.

If you want a board that support the 3300X out of the box you will need the "B450 Tomahawk MAX". The non MAX will need a BIOS update before installing the CPU. So if you go with a B450 Tomahawk non MAX make sure to contact the seller to know if the BIOS was updated for Ryzen 3000 series.

So you're saying that i have to turn on xmp even my processor supports 3200 mhz. I won't mind turning on xmp but i heard, later it can cause memory and game crashes.

Anytime memory is not stable it can cause issues no matter what speed it's running.
But yes you must turn on XMP to run 3200.

I have a 4790k it supports 1600 memory but I bought 2133 and have it overclocked to 2400 100% stable for about 5 years.
