Hello, All!

I am considering an ASUS A8V-E Deluxe with a Athlon 64 3000 slot 939 CPU.
What memory type should I be looking for with this combo? Will likely get
1GB of ram.

Thanks.

Colonel Blip.

OK, Dave C. has given you the safe choices, but if you are thinking of
overclocking and want to save some cash, check out the offerings on NewEgg
for PC 4000 1 Gig (512 x 2) from Patriot and PQI.

I have a A8V Deluxe plus Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester with a gig of the
Patriot running cool and stable at 2.4 GHz (20% overclock). The Geil PC3200
RAM I replaced couldn't go above 2.1 GHz. I'm pretty sure I could go faster,
but as it's my everyday home office PC...
I realize the A8V-E is different with a newer VIA chipset supporting PCI-E,
but I don't believe you'd have problems with either brand. The early day
issues with RAM in A64 motherboards seem to have been sorted out pretty
well.

A slightly different take on my original question. I have a Corsair
cmx512-3200c2 PC3200, 400 mhz, 64Mx64M, 184 DIMM Cas2 memory stick. Will
this work?

Thanks.
