Hey, I'm having a issue with my new RAM

I just bought a Kingston HyperX Red KHX16C9B1R 4 4gb memory module to go with my other one for a total of 8 gigs (they're both the exact same memory). Windows detects all 8gb but says 4gb of it is reserved for hardware. In the BIOS it only detects 4gb. I tried reseating the memory modules and using each stick 1 at a time. Both sticks are at the same speed, voltage and timings are also both the same/ I cant turn on or off memory mapping in my BIOS because its not there. I tried msconfig > boot > advanced options > unchecking maximum memory, changing to single/dual channel, resetting BIOS to defaults, theres no onboard video and windows isnt using all 4gb on the new stick for the video card. The sticks themself look physically fine and yes I am on 64 bit windows 7 ultimate.

I have a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-SP2 rev 5 motherboard with the F3 BIOS which is the latest that isn't a beta one.

I've been looking for a solution all day and have found nothing so if I could get some help that would be much appreciated, also sorry if this isn't the right place to post this (I just registered on the forums)

EDIT: CPU-Z also shows 8gb of memory.

Im assuming you made sure your motherboard can use the full 8g of ram
I would suggest updating your bios for that motherboard
Are you having any performance issues?

The motherboard supports up to 16gb.
Theres a beta BIOS F4a for the motherboard which I guess ill try.
No performance issues, just I can't get the RAM to work in windows.

Ok. I don't feel too safe updating to a beta BIOS so I guess ill do that as a last resort.

I can list some last ditch efforts like loading defaults in BIOS or try to see if you can roll back to a different version of bios.

If you go into safe mode does it still say the same thing?

Yeah, same thing in safe mode. I tried default BIOS settings already it didn't help.
