Okay, quick and to the point, I am planning a new build, basically a Q6600 and the EVGA board listed here. I am new to OCing and I am reading mixed messages on ram selection. All I would like to do is get my Q6600 up to 3GHz, I didn't think that would be to extreme, I also figure it would be somewhat stable at that speed. Anyway, I seen this Ram on Newegg and figured it was good, but I am no Ram expert, or OC expert, so what I need is some advice. Will this do for my goals, is it good ram, any thoughts?

Ram being considered
GeIL Ultra 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit

Oh, BTW, any other suggestions for RAM are welcomed!

Just bough some super talent ram use micro d9 chip and it was $143 including shipping for 2GB Kit DDR2 PC 8000

I don't know what's with the rebate in US... Is it the end of financial year for US?
but the ram is so cheap.... I would take something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145043
or probably OCZ Flex if that cheap as well...

You won't believe that the average price of DDR2 2GB-kit PC6400 is around $200 in my country... phewww such a difference...

Great point, I do believe though, if I did the numbers right, they will support the overall system and my goal of driving the Q6600 from 2.4Ghz to 3.0Ghz. What do you think?

Awesome! Many thanks, I was figuring to go with Patriot just because they have some decent reviews these days, I was surprised to find some nice muskin ram up there, low latency, just high price tag, almost double. I will pass for now though!

Thanks again!
