Hi
I have a asus z97-e mobo currently using 8GB of RAM. I have purchased 8gb x 3 same memory sticks but I am able to use the sticks only on DIMM slots A1 and A2 - when I insert the memory in slot B1 or B2 the CPU doesnt boot; it tries to boot but fails and repeats the process.

Till now I have done the below steps
- checked all DIMM slots are enabled on BIOS
- Updated the bios to the latest version
- Tried all possible combination ; but only works on DIMM A1 and A2
- checked mobo capacity and it does support 4x8gb RAM = 32GB

Any help on this will be greatly appreaciated

thanks

A few possibles, since it appears the problems are in the B channel, try loosening the CPU cooler, then snug it back down screw tight - if too tight in a corner or side it can throw the MC (memory controller) off. Might be the sticks just don't want to play - can try adding about + 0.05 to the DRAM voltage. Another possible is bent broken pins in the CPU socket
