Memory speed for a Ryzen processor

I've heard that Ryzen CPUs need some really fast memory, but how fast exactly? 2400/2666/3000? I have a tight budget, and the price difference are quite something here locally.

you only need 2400mhz, since ryzen give an option to budget builder to maximize performance with overclock. mine is 3000Mhz CL 16, from 2400Mhz Cl 14.

Which Ryzen ? For 2200g and 2400g without dedicated GPU it's essential to use faster RAM, for the rest not so much.
