Memory speed matter on Ryzen 5 2400g when paired with Discrete GPU?

Lets assume I have a Ryzen 5 2400g and GTX 1060 6GB.

Since APU with no discrete graphic need better RAM speed for better performance. Will it make huge difference if I use a 1x 8GB 2400mhz ram compared to 1x 8GB 3200 mhz (both with 1060)

Yeah it will make a difference but not near as much as if you were using the iGPU. Ryzen performance is very sensitive to ram speeds because the infinity fabric speeds are tied to the ram speeds. So faster the ram the faster your infinity fabric runs too which in turns increases frame rate even when using an external GPU. So I suggest getting the fastest ram you can afford in your budget either way.

Yes, Ryzen is still memory sensitive. Faster ram is still important.

If you havent bought this yet, if you're not using the onboard graphics, for $30 more you can get a Ryzen 5 2600, giving you 2 more cores and way more performance.
