HI,

I have a stupid question (newbie). I recently bought a Radeon 9600 and in the specs sheet it said Memory Speed 400 Mhz but when I check with Radclocker I only see 200 Mhz. Is there a multiplyer (eg. 200 equals 400) or is my memory too slow?

Thanks
Marcel

Well, video cards use what's called "DDR" memory.

"DDR" stands for "Double Data Rate". This means that for every single memory clock, the memory can transfer data twice.

So many manufacturers will advertise the "effective" clock rate as double the actual clock rate.

Long story short, don't worry about it, your video card is running at an effective 400 Mhz memory speed.
