Memory timings and voltage

Good Day!

Hope you are fine,. I was out of the city and my Tridents 2x8gb 2400mhz were taking dust in my mailBox, I installed them today, They are booting at 1333mhz at 1.5v, i enabled xmp and set dram freq to 1600 and its now running at 1600mhz but at 1.65v,.
Now, can you help me configuring the timings to run it on 1.5v at 1600mhz or 1866mhz, or its not possible,,

You probably will have to overvolt to increase the clock rate. If you can manually set the clock rate and the voltage, try increasing the clock as far as it will go. Make sure that it's stable.

I dont want to overvolt, i want to run it at 1600mhz at 1.5v. right now its running at 1600mhz at 1.65v.

Manually bring the voltage down to 1.5v. Then, increase the clock to 1600 MHz. If it's stable under a stress test, then try for 1866.

Thanks for your kind response, yes i did the manual voltage and timings setting and its now running on 1.5v at 1600mhz, i can push it more but i dont need as i am using it with g3420 dual core.

In the meanwhile i have a question, The system i have it only and only for games for my son,. So do we need all that 16gb of ram to play battlefield4,. i bought it online and they can still accept it back for the full refund, so i were thinking to get a refund of euro150 and then buy 8gb of ram (1866mhz used for 50 euro) and use the extra 100 for r9 290 (in used for 150). or i5 4670k.

Please suggest if i am right and what ram shall i buy,.

You won't need more than 8 GB of RAM to run battlefield4. I recommend using the extra cash to get the i5 4670K. It's a huge improvement over the g3240. However, if you don't have a discreet graphics card, then go for the r9 280. Still, you really should have a quad core CPU.

I am so sad giving up on Tridents, was so beautiful and strong sticks, But i got ripjaws 2x4gb 1866mhz cl8 for 60 euro's,. i think its good decision since we are not into photoshop and rendering things but games,
I got 90 saved in this deal,. Now shall i go 1st for i5 4670k or for r9 290? i can get euro 50 from g3420. currently we are playing on HD 5750 1gb 5gddr on low/medium 50+ fps.

You would be best getting the 4670k. Battlefield4 runs best with 4 CPU cores. If you overclock the 4790k, it will destroy the g3240.
I would recommend saving up for a little while and then getting the r9 290.
