Memory Timings HWInfo Readings

I just installed some new RAM that is supposed to be CL9, but these readings appear to be showing CL11. Are they incorrect? Is the memory running in CL11? How can I check?

Certain BIOS version seem to lack it. XMP just reads the presets off the RAM stick and automatically sets the timings. You did it manually so it's really the same thing. You're good.

Wait, it depends on your CPU as well. That's why you need to list full specs when posting a question here. 😉
Depending on your build you need to either enable XMP or manually set the timings in BIOS. Without knowing your specs that's as specific as I can be.

Sorry:

MSI H81M-P33
2x8GB DDR3 1600 CL9 1.5V

I found some settings in the BIOS and entered in the 9-9-9-27 timings and manually set the voltage to 1.5V (it was on auto, which seemed to be at 1.25V).

Was there anything else that needed to be changed, because there was more settings? I'll take a pic of the BIOS and upload it shortly.

I missed the 4790K part. If it was a locked processor you wouldn't get past DDR3 1333 anyway so just the fact that it runs at DDR3 1600 should have told me that. It's late. 😛

I've ran DDR3 1600 on a locked processor..? Once with an Athlon II X2 on an ASRock 770 and again with an i3-4160 on this MSI H81.

AMD's memory controller is completely different but I'm surprised the Haswell i3 let you use anything faster than DDR3 1333. Oh well you're good now.
