Ok I have been buying GSkill ram for the last year, it works well and is very cost effective.

The last batch I bought was for a Q6600 box I am building.

Here is what I bought:

It's now 5 bucks cheaper than when I bought it.

It uses the D9GMH micron chips, and is well packaged, for the money it will serve you well.

As I really have no plans to overclock it was a perfect choice for me.

We will see ram prices continue to drop for the next couple of months until the cutback in manufacturing and the fall buying season drives the prices up again. Now is a good time to buy ram, Esp. DDR2.

You have my support.

oh, i thought you were trying to say that samsung bought their chips from sombody else.... I dunno if they sell them out to other companies... it's a good possibility that they do, because they used to push a bunch of ram chips back in the day, therefore they've got a place to manufacture the stuff, i doubt their relative non-existence on the market means they're out of the ram loop.... they prolly do sell it off to other companies... but they don't buy anything from outside companies... not even screws, that's what i was trying to get at... sorry, i was kinda tired/drunk when i read your post. haha. 😛
