I am thinking of upgrading my pc and I dont now if getting a fx 8320k CPU and a MSI 970A-G43 motherboard with 8GB of 1866Mhz ram, gives me more performens then getting 16GB of 2400Mhz ram for my A10 6790k CPU and FM2A88X Extreme4+ motherboard.

Well, in games, RAM won't really affect performance but it will in Video Editing. I have had the 970A-G43. It is a good board, it handled my 6350 quite well. Its just doesn't have much OC support. And that is where AMD FX get most of there performance. You would be wasting money to not overclock. I would recommend getting a slightly better board (with Heatsinks and VRM) to pull the most power out of your money. But if you don't plan to overclock, the 970A is a fully capable choice. I would prefer that upgrade over ram.
