Hi,

A while ago the forums helped me build a PC with the following parts:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I haven't upgraded anything (first and only custom build) but something I wanted to install required 12 gb of memory. Can I buy a second memory card identical to the first and slot it in or is a better option available without breaking the bank?

Very appreciative of all your time and expertise. Happy new year!

Let me quess,warzone?
There is no other option for adding more ram than buying it.
You obviously cant download it.

Not really sure where you got that I am thinking can download more RAM but I'm nowhere near that clueless lol... was asking if I should buy a second ram to put into my motherboard or replace with a single faster one, and if there are any recommendations since it's an older setup.

Thanks rgd1101. I really appreciate your answer! Are there any compatibility concerns or would any 2x8gb kit work?
