memory upgrade problem.

i have upgraded my memory from 4gb to 8 gb . i am running a 64 bit system but my pc is saying it has 8gb ram but only has 3.9gb usable. anyone have any ideas, i have reseated the memory and my cpu with no change.

Solution
1) it does NOT appear as your using these in the RIGHT slots. NOTE your screenshots says SINGLE-CHANNEL. If you do NOT pair these together (slot 1 and 3 or slot 2 and 4, etc. depending on the Motherboard maker) they won't work in tandem.
2) Did you check your BIOS, and check you didn't have the second RAM turned off?
3) It appears the second one isn't working, did you try testing ONE RAM at a time, and make sure BIOS can see them individually, then in DUAL CHANNEL
4) make sure they are reseated correctly

it says 4195mb reserved but why is this , i only put the extra 4gb memory in 10 days ago. can someone explain how i change this please. i have no virus's and i have run malwarebytes.

Then please ensure you select the proper answer, but yes that is more accurate picture of proper hardware seating.
Still I would make sure (for optimal performance) to find the Motherboard model, look up the manual for it, check under RAM and see about how they should be in the slots (as I mentioned) to perform DUAL Channeling, just to make sure your getting what you paid for.
