Memory Usage goes quite high sometimes.

When I boot up my PC into win 8 I usually keep the taskmanger open to see what is going on. The memory usage is about %15 from 8gb ddr3. so that is around 1.2 to 1.3 gb and that is with steam and the basic things running. then after a bit it can go up to 2.5gb with the same things running. I added the processes up and it is no where near 2.5gb where is this memory being used?

you have 64bit windows which means it needs at least 2gb of RAM to run so that is perfectly normal.

Your OS also consumes memory which can't be seen in the task manager.
