Memory use of 10gb while doing almost nothing

Hi guys,

So, here is the pics of my current memory usage

Now question is, how can that be that my pc uses as much as 10gb ram while I only got some chrome, and couple software in use which is no more than 2-3gb with all them put up together?

I'm surprised to be honest, I had 8gb of ram before, it used 3-5gb while doing nothing, now I upgraded to 16gb, and the figures doubled literally in all aspects, including usage.

Chrome is quite the memory hog. However it seems like you also have a lot of background apps and services.

Disable some startup items in Task Manager > Startup.

Run msconfig, in Service hide Microsoft services and untick other programs you do not need running in the background.

It could also be malware, download updated Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run a scan.

scanned my pc, nothing found.

Restarted pc, and this is my current usage, using the same apps as before, and pretty much everything the same as before restart

the OS and system tends to use more memory if it isnt restarted for a long time I guess.
