No, PCs don't work that way. If basic troubleshooting is an issue, leave it be.

if you don't want black screen. don't mess with stuff

Is it possible? That depends on the motherboard and the memory controller.

If you get a black screen or some other unusable condition, you can just reset the settings by popping out the CMOS battery for 30 seconds.
