I am new to video editing having recently bought a TV card and Pinnacle
Studio 9.0. I tried to 'Create New Movie' in Pinnacle which after running
for over 6 hours gave up. Is this a memory problem? If so how much RAM do
youo need for this type of program.

512MB as a minimum. But with video rendering, the CPU is the
bottleneck. Depending on the length of your video and your processor
speed, 6+ hours could be expected.

Many thanks for your help. I only have 256 mg of DDR memory at present,
looks like I will have to upgrade a little.

It will help when editing but have little or no effect on your rendering.
Depending what you have done with your editing and how long the movie it
well may take 6 hours or lots more if you have a slower CPU.
