Memtest found a error

I got new set of sticks (2x8gb) and tested them with memtest86 yesterday. In the fourth pass it found one error.

For the heck of it i changed the slots on the mobo and did another test with 10 passes and it didn't find any errors. So am i out of the clear?

did you test both sticks at once or one at a time?

If you can't reproduce it, I wouldn't worry about it.

Non-ECC memory does occasionally flip the odd bit, usually residual radioactivity in the DRAM chips packaging. That's why we use ECC!

Both at once. Just let it running through the night.

Well, i couldn't reproduce it, so i guess its fine.(?)

I ran the test just to be safe, the first result managed to scare me.

You should run one at a time so you can tell which one is at fault, but as it hasn't happened again, its up to you whether you risk them working fine from now on or get replacements

I have never run memtest as i have never had memory errors. I guess it makes sense to run it on new ram but I won't be buying any for a few years.
