Hello all,
New user here and been trying to troubleshoot to see what's going on with my PC.
Here are my computer specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
MB: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming ITX/AX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600mhz 16CL
GPU: EVGA 3060ti
PSU: NZXT SFX 750W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
All my bios settings are stock except I have XMP enabled
XMP settings:
1.35v
DDR4-3600
16 - 19 - 19 - 36
(Excuse me if it doesn't make sense as I am not familiar with overclocking)
My PC is newly built by myself a few weeks ago. PC runs great and I play Valorant every night until yesterday I got a BSOD for the first time. The message said "memory_management", so I assumed it was a memory issue.
I immediately updated my bios and every thing else I can think of such as GPU drivers and windows updates. Then I ran the memtest program with 3/4 passing test and left the house without much thought. When I got home the test restarted itself and I couldn't see the results from the previous test and then it immediately started giving me a bunch of errors (maybe around 300-400) so I stopped the test.
I disabled the XMP profile and had the freq set to auto (2133) and ran the test again twice with passing results (total of 8 passes).
Then I increased the freq to 3200 and had the XMP profile enabled and passed the test with 4/4 passes.
Currently running the XMP profile and testing again at 3600 freq and it's at 2/4 passes with no errors.
Maybe it's too early to celebrate, but why did I get a BSOD in the first place? Was it was the old BIOS? But after that I got a failing test with many errors, but now it's been passing with no errors.
Also my computer has been on for the past 24 hours, so it's been warm this whole time. No cold start tests
Hope you can help me out and appreciate your time.
Thank you,
-Chris
