Currently I have the 2600x in my system and I did a CPU test using the memtest86 software. It was running well up until the 40min mark where it hit 107c which I think is odd that the PC did not shut itself off. I quickly stopped the test just in case. Is the temperature inaccurate?

Solution
memtest86 puts relatively light load on the CPU, it shouldn't cause the CPU to get particularly hot unless the HSF is either missing or incorrectly installed. Check temperature in BIOS and if that looks fine, then memtest86' temperature is most likely incorrect.
