Merging 4 wire to 2 wire usb cable

Can i merge a 4 wire usb cable to a 2 wire usb cable to charge my phone?

It is used to charge multi phones, which resulted in it wearing and needing to be repaired if possible.
It is usually connected to a computer or tv for charging purposes.

Why won't a standard cable do the job, why do you need to do this modification?

Standard, USB to micro USB cable would do same job. Dedicated chargers use only 2 power wires while connected to computer or TV may also connect the phone to them but that's not a problem, it will charge anyway.
