Question Mesh Network Backhaul

Quick question (don't know if they all work the same way):

The main node of a mesh network is normally connected to the modem.
If I then connect this through ethernet to a second node, will the second node have stronger WiFi?

How are you defining "stronger" ? Could you get higher throughput? Possible. Some mesh hardware has a dedicated radio in the satellite units that is exclusively for backhaul. That hardware has a better chance to provide similar performance to a wired backhaul.
