Question Message about USER ACCOUNT CONTROL

This mess pops up and it wants an answer of yes or no.---Do you want to allow this app from UNKNOW PUBLISHER to make changes to our device---- If you look in details it says ----upgrader .exe-Publisher Unknow--File origin: Hard drive on this computer--Program location "c\useers and a lot more (not sure if safe to finish the rest of the long line). I have no idea what to do with this message

If you don't know exactly what program is triggering the message, then the answer is a definite NO. And if it's happening OFTEN, and not as a result of anything you're trying to open or do, then there's a very good chance that it's some kind of malicious software that is trying to get you to give it permissions so it can deliver a payload or further infect your machine. I'd recommend doing full virus and malware scans to determine if there is malicious software on your machine.

Jebus. Norton's is probably the whole problem. For real, get that crap off your system. You do realize Norton's is a worse virus than actual viruses or malware, right? Right?

The update to my user account was from SEAGATE SSD. I went to MS community and someone led me to an article in--https://www.reddit.com/r/computervi...raderexe_unknown_publisher_seagate/?rdt=56617 --
I do not always have the SSD plugged into the desktop. So thanks for the help.
