Messenger error code-80072ee7 ?

I am having trouble with network connections, I think. I can use firefox, but not internet explorer. itunes store can not connect to internet, and windows update can't either. I am also getting messages from my mcaffe security saying that it can't get updates, and that my computer is at risk.

I recently switched from a wireless data card to using a cable- modem - router for my internet service and have noticed that I have not been able to update since around that time.

I have tried microsoft fix it and a few other troubleshooting tips, but have not had success. Any insight you can give me would be awesome.

IE - Try resetting IE in Internet Options.
Mcafee - I would Uninstall - Reinstall. (Actually, I would replace it with something that (IMO) gives better realtime protection) AVAST, eg.

Windows update: Try the RUN command and enter: regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
