Hi, metal cutting sound from around cpu/cpu .
Ryzen 3 1200
gigabyte b450 aorus elite
Pcs power color radeon r9 380 4gb
zalman 600w
gskill 2x8 3000.

stock settings for r3 1200 on auto goes from 3.1 to 3.4 on voltages to max 1.35/6/7..
so i did overclock on 3.6 on voltage 1.1937... stable for hours.
so i went futher. i went to 1.45 volts on 4.0 clock. and i run cpuz benchamrk, i got massive score, buttttt…metal cutting sound came in.
i reversed everything to normal, reset bios, reattach all components..and still under load (sometimes) that sound is here.
could I damage my mobo with that voltage..
PC didnt shuts off, and in fact everything was okay..now on 3.6. and 1.937 work super fine, tested it on aida64 , prime 95 etc..
my question is wth is that kind of sound. it not coul buzzing, nor are the fans. i checked everything. no burning marks, nor burning smell..components are old 2 weeks max.
i cant find anything to my problem online. Its not coil, nor fans..pc running good. pls help

Hi, metal cutting sound from around cpu/cpu .

Check if the cpu cooler fan is hitting it's shroud .
Try a different CPU cooler.

Use less than 1.40V - if you can fix that noise.
Better still, don't OC till you look at how other people have successfully done it.
