metal gear solid 5 coupon purchase

so as i can't afford dat 60$ for mgs5 on steam, i decided to buy it second-hand.but all of the adverts are coupons for bought nvidia gtx cards, and though the buyers did not use the coupons, there is a sentence on the card saying that the code is valid until october 1, 2015.
so if i buy the code, can i redeem it and play mgs5?
