What is the fastest way to transfer data from my PC to my new WD My Book Live Duo?
I started by setting it up as Raid 1 which took a while, and then plugged the my book into the router (due to the location of the wall socket, the router wasn't connected directly to my PC). Started copying and saw it was only doing 2.4mb/s so cancelled that. Then I stretched the router to the room with the PC and connected the two but that made little difference. Can I cut the router out of the equation and use the cable (think its Ethernet right?) to copy day directly from the PC to the my book? The my book has a USB port on it but I think that's just for adding another hdd externally to read from.
Any help appreciated
Oh, and possibly off topic, but should I be using the WLAN socket on the router? Ashamed to say I'm not sure what that's used for :-/
Thanks,
Sax
